I've put together a little tutorial on how to get a multiplayer network running in supermodel for anyone who's not sure about what to do.

Thank you! I'd be using instances on separate PCs, is that much different?

Is this worth it yet? Things have been optimised?

I do talk about how to get a multi-system LAN working at the end. It's the actual network itself that's causing the slowdown, much more so than the need for the - no-threads command. I haven't actually tried a LAN, but apparently it's much slower than a single system network, and runs at about 11fps on each PC its been reported.

Even a high speed connection won't make a difference with a LAN I'm afraid. The actual network itself is faulty, one of the Supermodel developers explained it as: "The current network code is waiting a full frame to receive data. Either the data is being received in the wrong place or it's missing some irq. It should be quite possible to run 16 players on a Lan with minimal latency."
With the single system running at around 25 - 30fps though, games are playable. I got some friends over awhile back to record some games and then edited them into the correct speed during video rendering.
