Can I run other games on this cab?
« on: June 19, 2020, 12:09:42 pm »
I bought this cabinet modified/converted to pc. It has a computer and Arduino Uno connected to it. I don't know the model name or number of the cab, I couldn't see any name or number on it. The pc in the cab runs windows XP and I want to install a different games like LFS or NFS.  Can I run and play different games on this cab? Is the console compatible with other games?

It's just a pc man... can you play other games on a pc?   :afro:

You need to give us some more info for more detailed advice.

You should check what the PC specs are first, then, as Howard said, it is only a matter of installing a new game on a PC.
Being that you have an LCD it should be easy to replace the whole PC eventually.
The arduino uno is likely flashed to act as a joystick or combined peripheral.
See how the PC recognize it.

Yeah that's the thing, without you checking we don't have any idea how that wheel is working hardware-wise.  I'm also curious if it has force-feedback.

Im guessing its pots and shifter via the Arduino. Centering via spring.

Possibly, but that's a sega wheel.  Was this an M2 cab?  If so there might be force feedback hardware, and he could just build a pwm2m2.

Edit: that's model 3 -- no idea about a hardware interface for that.
