IPAC-4 Shifted Keys issue
« on: May 21, 2019, 12:54:18 pm »
I've got one of the older Ipac 4 board with the PS/2 connectors on it.  I'm using it over usb with the supplied cable.

The board works perfectly except for the shifted keys.  When I assign a p1/p2 shift key to, say, P2 start and program the board, the following happens:

1. The start key now only registers when I let go of the button
2. The "left mouse" action I applied to the "P1 Sw1 shifted" key does not fire when I click P1SW1 while holding P2Start.

Does anyone have any feedback / suggestions?

That's normal operation for shifted functions.

When you press Start (shift), the IPac doesn't know if you want to do Start or a shifted function.
- If a button with a shifted function is pressed before you release Start, it sends the shifted function keystroke immediately.
- If no button with a shifted function is pressed before you release Start, it sends the Start keystroke.

You should be getting that left mouse press while holding down the shift key.

I would test a normal letter key as a shifted key first, so that you can confirm it works in a blank document before trying mouse functions.

ok, so the a letter key works when assigned as a shifted function,  but the mouse button assignments don't work :-/
