How tight does your coin door lock?
« on: February 04, 2004, 10:11:02 pm »
I just installed some barrel locks into my over-under coin door(s).  The doors have some "rattle" to them when they're locked.  I don't think a shorter lock would work.

Should I employ my hammer here? or is this expected.

Hammer or pliers should do the trick. You might want to remove the tab from the lock first (although I admit I usually don't).

Your lock probably came with several different bars that can be installed on it to tune it to a better fit for your application, from there you bend it a bit to make it fit better.

You still may have some play in it though. I have lots of games, and the coin doors vary a bit in how tight they lock.
Acceptance of Zen philosophy is marred slightly by the nagging thought that if all things are interconnected, then all things must be in some way involved with Pauly Shore.

A little bit of foam around the inside edge can make the rattle stop.  I bought mine from a local collector and he had a foam gasket already made for this very thing.
