Leaf-Pro from Groovy Game Gear
« on: January 08, 2017, 11:23:22 am »
Hey guys, long time no see.  Quick question about the Leaf-pro joysticks from GGG I got a set for a buddy's 60 - 1 cab and noticed the the bolt pattern doesn't match up.  I build an adapter plate for them but was wondering how folks were mounting them since I'm not able to remove the stick from the base without unscrewing a plate on top of the base.  Any help is appreciated.

Any old timers still here?

The adapter plate is the way to go.

If you would have asked before you bought, I would have recommended buying the Pac Pro joysticks instead.

Thanks for the advice but does anyone know if the stick can be removed from the base without unscrewing the restrictor plate?  I'm seems strange I would have to feed the ball through the hole in the control panel.

Thanks again!

SOLVED... the washer between the two restrictor plates was removable but not without an extreme amount of force!

Thanks again!

EDIT: nevermind! the post above clued me in. I had the washer in the wrong place. Should have paid more attention when i first took it apart. thanks anyway!

Hey dhansen(or anyone who knows this joystick), I see you just posted this the other day.. can you tell me what the order of all your pieces on the Leaf-Pro are?

I bought one a few weeks back and in the process of putting everything together I'm not entirely sure I have it all together correctly(may have misremembered the original order). Unfortunately I can't find a diagram or anything for it. It plays *ok* but it seems VERY stiff (and if i pull up(as in up away from the control panel) on the stick it feels smoother and looser, but of course it won't stay in that position)

What I have is, from top to bottom: ball top, shaft, -control panel- diamond restrictor(4-way option), circle restrictor, joystick base, washer, spring, actuator

based on your post that i quoted, i think i have the washer in the wrong place? i'm not sure how it could go between the 2 restrictors though, unless you meant that it goes above the base instead of below it, which i think would leave it sitting in about the same vertical space as the restrictor plates.

Any helps is much appreciated!

+1, I made the exact same mistake when I ordered my leaf joys.  Luckily, RandyT was cool and let me exchange it for the proper Pac Pro joystick.  Great customer service goes a long way...  I've bought 4 Pac Pros since then for various projects.  Great joystick!
