Best weekend I've had in a long time.
In no particular order, some highlights for me:
Getting to put faces and names to the regular crew here. It's a cool feeling, to run into a bunch of strangers who aren't strangers.
Hanging out with RetroGreg, Melvinbates, Yotsuya and Jawhn at Monastery. Great company, and it was good to have the chance to meet people before the con really got underway.
Starfighters. I think I was actually even more impressed by them than the main Zapcon floor - sure, it was smaller, but the games they had out were just an encyclopedia of my all time favorites. If I was a local, I'd be there all the time.
Meeting Jawhn. Getting edged out 7-6 in a tightly fought Space War game, by Jawhn. Getting categorically out-smack-talked by Jawhn during said game, which likely contributed to his victory.
Handling a piece of Ond's retro-futurist cabinet, and him good naturedly laughing off my awestruck reaction to it.
Getting such a big welcome from Yotsuya, and all the work he clearly put into making sure that everybody had a good time at this. Thanks, man.
Seeing the legion of BYOAC shirts *everywhere*.
Getting the chance to see how my cab compares to the originals, in detail.
Talking about cabinet design and the future of the hobby with vwalbridge.
Meeting Slippyblade and his family, and hanging with them at the In and Out. That is a guy who knows where his towel is.
Malenko's hilarious razzing over the Frogger level. A+, would get trolled again.
TLDR: That was great. Thanks, to all of you.
