Hidden Trackball Mount
« on: October 11, 2015, 04:55:08 pm »
I've been playing in GIMP and I'm getting close to a layout that I really really like!  Problem is, now I don't want to cover the colors on the CP with a black mounting plate. Is there a good way to undermount the trackball without seeing the bracket, or a bracket made for this sort of thing? No carriage bolts or plate showing? I have the undermount invisible stuff for the joysticks, would like to keep it clean with the trackball too. Thanks!!!

Strong enough to stand up to trackball movement? Looks like a plan!

i used a standard trackball mounting plate, and just used a router to countersink the plate flush with the top of the MDF.  IF you are doing some kind of adhesive vinyl graphics, this may not be the best option, but i printed mine on heavy paper and sandwiched it between the wood and plexi.

I have not heard of any instances of the mounting inserts we supply with our U-Trak trackball coming out. This wont help if you already have the trackball though. Most other trackballs need a mounting plate.
