Hi
« on: September 13, 2015, 09:17:03 am »
First post.  Just wanted to say hi and looking for a little help.

I have my Arcade computer with various systems installed.  I don't have any desire to build a cabinet for now as I'm ok with just hooking it up to my Tv and playing every now and then.  I use an X-Arcade dual joystick which I bought dirt cheap off craigslist.  And a Thrustmaster steering wheel for next to nothing.

I'm already wanting to swap the joysticks out of the X-Arcade.  I'm considering the Mag-Stik Plus because I want the convenience of jumping from 8 way to 4 way.  Will it be just a simple swap? I've seen some Youtube videos for swapping other sticks that require a dremel.

Thanks.

Hi midd, welcome aboard.

Magsticks will require a little bit of modding to fit your X-Arcade case, but it is easily doable.

The easiest way is to use a pair of these adapter plates to replace the original Magstick top plate: https://www.paradisearcadeshop.com/mounting-plates/1280-universal-arcade-joystick-adapter-plate.html. Using these plates you won't need to drill new mounting holes in the panel and you can use the original X-Arcade mounting hardware.

If you don't use an adapter plate you will need to reroute and redrill the panel.

Hope this helps
