Hello I just bought a repaired amp for my Rowe r-94 and it was working but the sound wouldn't go up or down just quiet so I thought it was the volume knob so I waited then the next day I plugged it back in and I got a constant squeal but when you unplug the speaker out puts on amp it quits any ideas thanks for your reply in advance :hissy:   :dizzy:

Hello Dylanoreo21,

Welcome to the forum, sorry but you did not leave your name or what country you live in.

The vast majority of Rowe Ami amplifier volume controls are 10k log (they can be single or dual dependant on application).

If there is any wiring issues on the jukebox wiring then this can effect the volume control.
We always advise that you make up a test volume control that goes inplace of the wiring to the volume molex plug into the amplifier. The standard wiring on this plug is wires in location 1, 2 & 5. The plug of course can be put in either way so watch out for that.

What we do is use the plug (you could even use the wires after taking them out of the loom) and move connection 2 into connection 3. Now with the wires in connections 1, 3 & 5 it doesn't matter which way the plug is around. Connect pins 1 & 5 together and solder this to one side of the 10k log control, connect pin 3 to the wiper on the control.

If this does not sort out your volume control/sound problems you will need to sent theamplifier away to a Rowe Ami specialist. If you were in Europe you could send it to me in the UK.

Regards
Alan

I live in the USA and the  volume knob on the back maybe causing this to squeal you say and if so there is 2 wires going to it one going to the wiper and one going to one side of the potentiometer and when I disconnect the volume control from the amp it still does this thanks again for your reply
