WTB - Candy cab

I'm in the market for a candy, preferably an Astrocity, Pony IV, or Egret 2. Not a huge Blast City fan but beggars can't be choosers. If you're in the SE US (day drive from Atlanta) hit me up.

Hey man, you don't ask you don't get ;)  There's a guy in Atlanta selling an Aerocity for a price too high for me on Craig's and $300 higher BIN on ebay.  I'm tempted to shoot him a fair offer but I really don't like that cab, too squarish, something about the curves of those other dirty girls gets my motor goin', and all the Astros seem to be in California or one of the adjacent states.

There was a guy in Chicago that was importing them for $650 and change if I remember.  I believe he was on another arcade related forum but I cannot remember which forum.  The ones that are imported come with Cigarette burns and are in overall bad shape. However, w/ Shipping to Atlanta it will be same price as that 1g one on CL.  If you want a clean one then that one locally may be the one to go.

If you do decide to import some to the south, I am in Florida and could go in on a buy.  Just like everyone else who has ever seen a candy cab, I want a candy cab on the cheap.

Windy City, he's just got Blasts and Nets in stock right now. Might be worth it to do an East Coast order if we could fill a containers worth. I'd be down for two, so I can leave one tated.

Windy City, thats it.  Just checked and they have a website.  The website shows its about 1000 for the cabients.  Have you seen the goodies they have on Alibabba?  Probably cheaper or same price as Windy City but they look brand new.  A big selection and can find some for 800-100 brand new.

I've looked at alibaba, the super red magics aren't bad, some of the Sega clones can be sub 500 but I've read that the monitors and other components are usually garbage. Find a nice enough cabinet and I'd consider it tho.

Highway Entertainment in Aussieland can do $500 for unshopped Astros iirc, they middle man for a Shanghai dealer I believe. I should get a quote for a container to port of Savannah.

Might be nothing, but there was a guy in Lexington, KY a few years ago with a Blast City and an Astro City.  That's a day drive from Atlanta (but a long one).

He runs this site:

and used to post here:

Best tip I can give you, friend.

Waiting on a complete quote from welink, will keep this thread updated as things develop. They took their sweet time getting back to me after initial contact.

I just looked at that link and when requesting a shipping quote I was quoted free.

Nevermind, just read the entire listing, my mistake.

I remember a dude in the Atlanta metro area who had several candy cabs for sale. He was selling them for $500-$1000. I'll post the link if I can find it again.

Also, here's this from Huntsville, AL: http://huntsville.craigslist.org/vgm/5123176325.html

Oh, and like Jack mentioned, Arcade Otaku is a good place to look. I've seen a few go in the Southeast from there.

They quoted me about $800 to a freight terminal in San Antonio 5 years ago.

For what that's worth....

I gave up on ever owning one of those many years ago.

I was looking for a candy cab forever and finally lucked into an Atomiswave cab off of Craigslist a couple months ago for $100. The monitor was necked and the chassis didn't work but the rest was in great condition. In looking around for a monitor replacement I found a guy (I think off of Arcade Otaku forum) who had some candy cabs and parts in California. I ended up just buying the monitor but he was offering to send the cab he took it out of if you're interested. It was $200+ shipping for just the cab. If you're interested PM me and I'll send his email info.

Update from WeLink - shipping for a single unit is $550 to an East Coast port.  Puts the cost around $930 before transportation to and from the port plus any port and/or tariff fees.  Yikes.  Probably would get out clean for a bit under 1200.

400 shipping was about my emotional limit, I just can't see spending more to ship than I do on the actual machine.

Got a line on an Atomiswave shell for $175 out west.  Waiting on a freight quote now.  No monitor or powersupply or controls but that's all the easy part really.  Pretty pumped, hopefully this works out.
