Hi Guys,
my cab is coming along and I'm at a point where I only have the art missing and redoing the CP and CP-Box.
I made the CP slope too steep for my height so I can play comfortably with a bar stool but standing is a nightmare for me as I have to bend my wrists too much (ironically everybody else is smaller and doesn't have a problem).
Regardless, I can play and get that out of my system in the meanwhile and therefore take my time to figure out what/how the final CP is going to be as I'm going to start from scratch on that one.
I really like RandyT's microswitches (GroovyGameGear) and thinking about going with LED lit buttons. I tried his switches in Happ buttons and like the overall feel very much, so I have a few questions about the EI2 buttons he offers:
1. Are the Electric ICE 2 the same size as the Happ buttons? (I don't mean that the plungers are interchangeable with Happ plungers, but is the diameter of the plunger roughly the same?)
2. Are Electric ICE 2 build identical with CLASSX buttons, meaning all parts would be interchangeable between the two? (The reason why I'm asking is if I would like to later use the LEDs with a Clear CLASSX that Randy sells on request, can I move the LEDs over without modding? I might be going alternatively with CLASSX Clear Button with CLASSX Black plunger.)
3. Would you suggest RGB-Drive II or Helios LEDs? I'm leaning currently towards RGB Drive for the following reasons: they sit lower in the button so I would assume they would work better with the alternative Clear/Black setup mentioned in 2, and only 1/3 of the power required so I wouldn't need an extra power supply.
4. I have already some Ultralux single color buttons for admin functions and Start and Coin and want to keep them. Will the LED-Wiz work with them right out of the box or do I have to do something e.g. resistors to prevent them from being fried?
5. If I understood correctly, if I put different voltages on the bank select I could run NovaMatrix LINX 2 chains from one bank via 12V and then LED 5V from the other banks, correct? (That way I might get away with 2 LED-Wiz instead of 3.)
6. Can I run each 5 LED segment of the NovaMatrix LINX 2 kit via the LED-Wiz separately or do they have to be connected together?
I realize that probably Randy is the best person to answer all this, but I don't want to bug him with PMs as this is not urgent (I'm going to buy everything in 100$-150$ batches over time, as that sounds a lot better than spending one time 800 bucks on all controls and hardware, and I don't have to figure all components out at once and can see how things look and work in the old CP before I do the final one.)
Anybody is welcome to chime in

As always, thanks four help guys!
