« on: May 07, 2015, 01:50:06 pm »
Hi again everyone I hope someone can help me out here i have a performer wall with 100 cd's and after laying dormant for a year I had a board battery replaced and it is working again but my title display cards are not moving and when i press the shift button i get error 90 i have been told  i need to empty the displays out completely and then try to operate it, it should then free up and be back to normal can someone talk me trough this process as they obviously have to be positioned in there correct places and the person who told me this says he is to far away to do it

the process is a real bugger to reset. (even with experience, it can take an hour or more) it involves removing literally EVERYTHING and resetting it.

I'd check the wire connections to the title rack unit and try to clear the error first and see if it comes back to life before i'd go ripping into the title rack.

his first problem is this
>I had a board battery replaced and it is working again<
what he means by board battery ? <  has me confused
backup battery chip >dallas-xx-xxxx fine
or the conplete control board ?
if  #1 he did not do a full p setup, thus getting that error
chrisf1 u will need to refer to the service manual section 3 start at pg 303 and read to 328
just about any cd-100 manual will do the job
if the full board then u will need to clear back-up ram >dallas chip< and or for the 12.00 replace it with a fresh 1
1 way is going to take u up to 2 hours of programming
the other way about 45 mins and some solder time.
but do as shawn sujest's and chk your connector's them title stip movers are a bugger

p.s my med must be holding

I believe you are right back up battery chip anyway the box had been on my wall dormant for over a year anyway the fella who did that posted the board back to me which i installed and thought everything was fine then i noticed that the title movement button was not lighting up and i could not move the titles so rung the chap again who by this time was getting  quite pissed off and he said that a lead was off which I found and put on and then found that the cards will not move it makes all the noises  but is stuck and when i told him this he said the only way to do it is to remove all the cards to free them up which is great if you have a manual but i do not so can anyone talk me through what i know is not going to be a pleasant job thanks Chris

http://arcarc.xmission.com/PDF_Jukebox/NSM/NSM_Grand_2_Technical_Manual.pdf

read PDF page 123 and 124

(manual page numbers 903 and 904)

it's not EXACTLY your machine, but the title page unit is the same. this explains the reload procedure. good luck, you'll need it.

error 91= blocking title display while left movement
error 92= blocking title display while right movement

cure: blocking remedy

to me it sounds like a pad and or reversed plug from the opto's in the title controller

Hi again i have just found another plug that was not connected but looked like it obviously should have been so have connected that from display cabinet to board , should these errors come up if operating the shifter while  cabinet is empty if so I will have a go at putting them back as it now appears as if all is as it should be

if u are correct
straight with 1 on the left hand side and step it all the way through to 50 then let it carry on the right to carry on with it 51-00
it should clear your error

yeah these things are a real bugger. when we were still running them, we had 2 spares on hand to swap them out with in case of a jam.

then we'd take it back to the shop and spend an hour or more getting it sorted and put back together.

leave it to the germans to over-engineer a product.

I have another instruction sheet someplace that outlines step by step the reloading of the pages. It was a technical bulletin put out by NSM. I'll try and dig it up tomorrow and scan it and post it here. it may explain a little more than the manual does.

there is a few other things u could do
"feild repair=1"
start at the very back of the title box (49) left hand side
place (2) titles in  so 48/49. hit right button so now u have 49/50 loaded
then repeat ^^^ until u get all 100 loaded,takes 45min's, :be-careful: of the worm gear's >feed<..
"feild repair=2"
replace drive board.opto board, these thing's fail in a very strange way
care must be taken to match the build # like 142-44-a will not work with 142-44-b
