An LED 4/8 way switchable joystick
« on: April 15, 2015, 02:12:35 pm »
Hey Guys,

Hoping you can shed some light - see what I did there - on a question I have.

I was checking out the Omni2 joysticks, which quickly change on the bottom from 4 to 8 way, but they don't have LED. Neither does the MagStick Plus, which I have in my bartop.

Is there an LED joystick that quickly changes from 4 to 8 way? Or maybe know of a way to modify the sticks above? Randy emailed me and said the Sanwa LED sticks may work, but I was wondering if any of you have done that with the Omni2.

Thanks for the advice!
I'm with stupid.

I have no knowledge of the Omnis myself, but did see that Paradise Arcade have hollow replacement shafts for lighting MagSticks/T-Sticks:  http://www.paradisearcadeshop.com/shafts/733-magstik-10mm-stainless-steel-hollow-joystick-shaft.html

Very cool! I could put a ball top on it, too.

How would I put an LED in there?

For some reason I thought I saw a post once where Randy was offering a hollow shaft with Electric Ice-type ball top for the Omni2 as a custom add-on. That way you could have a full control set (stick, buttons, and track ball) all matchy-matchy in Electric Ice. But maybe I was dreaming?  :dunno

You're good!  :applaud:

So I can just pop on a clear balltop and I'm good to go?

De nada.

You'll need a 10mm bushed balltop, but yeah. Paradise and most other vendors have those too.

I can't seem to find a bushed ball top, even on paradise.

There are several 10mm threaded translucent tops on this page: http://www.paradisearcadeshop.com/670-paradise-

If you're going to use RGB LED, then there's this: http://www.paradisearcadeshop.com/paradise-arcade/560-hoku-38mm-ball-tops.html
