I've read over and over on this site many varied opinions on what is good/bad/better/best/etc. But there does seem to be two things that almost (I hesitate to say all) all of us agree on.
1) Orient your joysticks straight up.
2) Beware of Functional but not Finished.
In working on my build I got #1 right....but wow, have I fallen into the trap of #2. I still have a lot of things to do both in construction, wiring, configuration, software, etc for my build but it has been largely functional for the vast majority of games now for several months and my productivity on completing it is completely shot. So many fun games, many of which I haven't played in 25+ years. So many games that I loved as a kid or really wanted to try more but never had the chance. So many games that were too tough as a child.
I am having so much fun with this thing that I really spend any time I could use working on it to play. I'm sure at some point the novelty will wear off and I'll swing more time back around to working on it. But right now, two months in, I'm still totally hooked.
How about everyone else? Get stuck? Still stuck?
