Rollcage Redux

I stumbled across this whilst I was searching for some other stuff:

http://www.codemonkey.me.uk/view_blog_entry.php?blog_entry_id=131

http://www.codemonkey.me.uk/rollcage_redux.php

A new graphically enhanced version of the old PS1 game Rollcage available for free download by one of the fellas who was responsible for programming the game originally.

For anyone who isn't familiar with it, Rollcage was produced by Psygnosis (later Studio Liverpool) who made all the Wipeout games. It's a futuristic arcade racer with crazy physics that let you drive on the ceiling and all sorts of shenanigans like that. I didn't actually own it back in the day, but one of my friends did and I remember it being good fun. I haven't tried this version out yet though, I'm downloading as we speak.

Edit: Here's a video of it in action that someone's uploaded.

Okay, just played.  It's fun, really fun.  Stupid hard to control with just the keyboard tho...of course it warns you of that.  I'll get it on my cab this weekend and see how it treats me.  Good stuff!

The physics remind me of San Francisco Rush, which is a good thing  :applaud:

There's a reworking of Rollcage Stage II as well, called Rollcage Extreme: http://www.codemonkey.me.uk/view_blog_entry.php?blog_entry_id=132

There's also the sort-of-official forums for both on Steam (ironically, as neither game is): https://steamcommunity.com/groups/rollcage/discussions - click the right-hand menus for each games builds/discussions (the Codemonkey site tends to just link to the latest build of each game, I think)
Check out my racing game videos, including every PC F1 and Rally game ever, over here: https://www.youtube.com/user/VirtuaIceMan/
