Looking for pac man control panel
« on: December 11, 2003, 11:37:17 am »
Hi,
I'm looking for an inexpensive original pacman or ms pacman control panel.  Condition of the overlay doesn't matter, I'm using the panel for a template.

Or if anyone has exact dimensions of the pac style control panels that would help as well!

Thanks!

I suggest posting this as a request for pacman control panel dimensions.  There are many people that would be willing to help you out, but most of them wouldn't be looking under this thread title.

I'm not sure if that belongs here or in the main forum.  There is a specific sticky thread there for original cab dimensions, check if pacman is in there:

This opinion was created from 100% post consumed information.

Thanks for the reply.  I'd really prefer to buy a used pacman control panel, but was willing to settle for really good exact dimensions if anyone had them.

I'll keep checking ebay!

Wasn't there a thread awhile back (1 month or so) where someone posted pics and dimensioned them?  If the search feature isn't too quirky you can try that.
its better to not post and be thought a fool, then to whip out your keyboard and remove all doubt...

Check out the plans thread,in the main forum- page 2 there is a fairly good shot of a pacman control panel--I'm sure if you PM the guy he could help you out (macattack?)

BNF:

I have a Galaxian CP (same cabinet as Pac) if that is useful to you.  There are a number of extra holes in it, as the former operator/owner was a terrible hack, bu at the very least you would have a CP in the exact size/shape that you need to have one custom cut and bent for you, or to make a template from.  The start buttons are in the same place, and the stick was simply centered on the CP.

Let me know if you're interested, I can ship it out to you before Thursday.

Also, the Pac and Ms. Pac panels may not be exactly identical, but you can swap them between cabinets. My old "used to be a Galaxian" cabinet had Galaxian (converted), Pac-Man (original), and Ms. Pac-Man (converted) panels on it at different times, and all of them fit.
Acceptance of Zen philosophy is marred slightly by the nagging thought that if all things are interconnected, then all things must be in some way involved with Pauly Shore.
