Issue with rotating monitor and centering inside cabinet

I have been working for the last year on and off on my first arcade cabinet and I wanted to make it as versatile as possible since it will be likely "the one and only".  I have been working on the rotating monitor and having a few issues with alignment. I have the HP2065 monitor.   I have it where in horizontal the monitor is lined up perfectly in the cabinet.  However when I rotate the monitor to vertical position the monitor is about 5/8 inch off to one side with respect to the cabinet shell.  I did notice the VESA mount on this particular monitor is about 1/2" lower from being in perfect center.  I didn't know if this was the issue or if anyone else had experienced centering issues when rotating their monitor.

Simple solution, rotate it back to normal position, raise (or lower?) the monitor 5/8". Fixed.

I guess I was thinking if I moved the monitor to the left in vertical position then rotated back to horizontal, then horizontal will not be centered.  I don't think there is a solution as much as I was wondering if anyone had ran into this issue before.  I think for the most part it will be in horizontal orientation for 70 percent of the time so I am focusing on that.

Thanks for the input, I will try to lower or raise the monitor in horizontal and see how that affects the vertical position.

regardless of where the vesa mount holes are, the center of rotation has to be the center of the monitor display area.  you may need to make a plate to offset the VESA mount points to the center of rotation.

Take my rotary engine stand for example. Engine bracket attaches to front plate, which is rotated on the bottom when assembling so multiple plates can be stacked. The engine bracket is offset, so when the engine is complete, it will rotate on the stand towards the center of the engine. Same concept can be used for your rotating monitor.

Only way to do it.

I made a template of the monitor out of foam board, then marked the center of the screen, then marked the VESA mount locations, then marked mounting points for my bearing (circled in red) based on the center of the screen.

After all those points are marked, you have a template for your adapter plate.
