  • I want to build my own arcade controls!
I,m finishing my simulator of car but I have a problem.I have installed the game Outrun 2006 Coast 2 Coast.
I have two devices conected to usb,the steering wheel logitech and a hack of pad used to the buttoms.
If I have connected the two devices usb in that game always detected first the hack pad device instead of logitech usb.
Does anyone if exists any program that I can to use to give priority always to Logitech usb instead of hack of pad?

If you go to USB game controllers in the windows control panel, you should be able to click an "advanced settings" button at the bottom which will allow you to set a default primary device. Try that.

It's a problem with the game unfortunately.

If I can ever get fxt released that'll be the next issue I address.

Ok Thanks for the replies, then the only solution to play it would be to weld each buttom directly to each buttom of steering wheel of logitech and remove the hack of pad, wouldn,t? or exist any other solution to can to play.

That or hook things up to a keyboard encoder, yes.

+ 1 on the keyboard encoder

On mine, the Start button posts ENTER, the Exit button posts ESC, and the view buttons post arrow keys.
This works to navigate the menus of every PC driving game that doesn't require a mouse.
I only had two games that required an autohotkey script to post different keys: Need For Speed Underground 2005 requires you to press Q to quit and Outrun C2C requires F2 to change the colors of the cars (IIRC).  The scripts just remap my radio button (not shown)

Yes Badmouth now I know it,s a keyboard decoder(ipac, interface usb etc..).
In true I have one in home ,a interface usb to two prayers like this:

But if I connect that keyboard decoder and remove the hack of pad ,window 7 will detect like a normal usb device like hack of pad and I,ll have the same problem for the game Outrun, haven,t?

No.  Keyboards and gamepads are considered different things.
The game will see the wheel as the only game controller and it will be device #1.

Lol I don't think you are listening.  It DOES work.  Why would we recommend a route if we didn't know if it worked?

Keyboard encoders (not decoders, get your terminology right) are the default standard for all games.  Since the only input device a game developer knows for sure will be on a pc is a keyboard, all games have some level of keyboard support and most have pretty good keyboard support.  You'll often run into an issue of hard-coded keys, but other than that....

Also use your head there for a second... you keyboard was plugged in when you used the gamepad right?  The gamepad, buy itself worked just fine right?  Yeah there you go.

Well today I have tested using an interface usb and works perfectly. It detects first the Logitech device and after the interface usb.
I believed that a hack of pad was detected to window of the same way that a interface usb but I was mistaken.
Thank so much to both for the replys.
