Holy ---steaming pile of meadow muffin---, why 3 start buttons?! Player 1 start and player 2 start would suffice.

Pause is not needed, but a good feature. Especially if you have kids or a pet as you might want to step away for a few seconds.

Lights button is not needed. Have your lights start up with your machine. Wire the MARQUEE to a usb port or power supply daisy chain on your computer, or look into a smart strip (ecostrip).

WTF is a sound button? Is it to control volume? Rotary knob?

I assume the middle start is for people to start a selected game. Not a bad idea, but none of my users have a difficult time using the 1 player start button to launch a game.

As for the lights button and electricity, I assume what you are looking for is a button that when pressed actually shocks the person. You will need a metal button and wire a 110V plug directly to the switch that connects when the button is pressed. Best to use a leaf switch button.

I cannot see anything wrong with the layout.  I like it.  It has plenty of room for movement and expansion.  I hope you factor in button reach while sitting, as it gets old standing at the cab for awhile.

It is you who is going to be using it, regardless if it had eleven admin buttons on it.  You can always play around with button configuration at a later date.

Also I have to say that your woodwork is most excellent.  :applaud:  You definitely seem to have got a good handle on your vision, and I hope you will share pictures of the complete assembly.

The marquee, is better lighted with cold cathode tubes that you can hook up with your PC PSU.  They come in 12 and 5 volts and provide adequate lighting.  Activation can be done many ways, but I would go the simplest route and have it powered on during boot up.

Whatever you decide, will always be with some experiments.  If you have any problems let us know, just ignore the trolls that try to wind you.

Also if you use an ipac, holding P1 start+ P1 joystick down = pause.

If you're replying to a troll you are part of the problem.
I also need to follow this advice. Ignore or report, don't reply.

about the upper buttons:
it was just a sketch drawing, none of my buttons actually does any of what is written in the picture i posted here
the realy functions for them is: (pc on\off - cp lights on\off - mame lightning on\off - sound on \ off - safety switch on\off)

and i understood i DO need a menu + pause buttons...
and really don't know where to put them...
i am using ipac 2... and if i can do a combination with the p1 start .. or somthing.. it would be awsome..

My reply was honest too. I gave you a few tips and even told you what "the one with the name of the machine that lights up" was called. :banghead:
