Hey everyone, long time no post.
I can't believe it's been 4 years since I "finsihed" this cab
http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,103611.msg1104594.html#msg1104594So we've been hobbling along using the Xbox as the brains of the operation which works fine because I have a CRT TV conntected to it. The kids just use the Xbox controllers to play (kind of defeats the purpose of an arcade) Never got around to figuring out the PC/iPac/front end/arcade controls issue I was having a while back.
Well, now spring has sprung and I am getting in the mood to finally finish off this cabinet and get it to work with the arcade controls as intended.
Maybe I am just thinking out loud, but I wanted to ask the experts what direction you would take.
I have 2 options:
THE CHEAPEST:
I could keep the Xbox as the brains of the operation, but I am wondering if there is a way to wire the arcade controls right to the xbox controller wiring and use it that way??? I am at work, but did find a blog that someone did this with an adapter he created. This would be cheap because all the parts are already there.
THE NOT SO CHEAP WAY:
I bought a PC a while back that will run the emulators no problem, but now I am running into the problem of needing a new monitor. I already purchased the iPac a long time ago, and have the wiring left from the controls. I don't really have money to invest in a monitor and not even sure it would fit well as I am using an old Street Fighter cabinet.
Thoughts?
