  • I want to build my own arcade controls!
Hello friends,
I've just bought a Terminator2 gun

I try to hook up it to A-Pac to run mame using a A-pac.
No problem with the buttons, I will do as mentioned here:

But I'm wander how to plug the solenoid considering the original wiring:

I find an old post with a diagrams but it's for a force feedback motor

I know a member called retrorepair succeed to make it with a Revolution X cab but I don't know how he did it

Thanks for your Reading and sorry fr my English I'm french  :P

You'll need MAMEHooker to translate the output signals from MAME to an output device.
http://dragonking.arcadecontrols.com/static.php?page=aboutmamehooker
(see links to tutorials on right side of page)

For an output device, you can use a Pac-Drive from Ultimarc or LED Wiz from Groovy Game Gear.
There are also ways to use the pins on a parallel port, but that can be difficult to accomplish with newer 64 bit operating systems.

The output device will need to trigger a transistor or solid state relay.
On its own, the output device cannot handle the current or voltage required to trigger the solenoid.

Thanks you for your reply BadMouth
Damn so it won't be so easy  :embarassed: And my Ultimarc order wich was sent this morning...  :banghead:

Nevermind, My original plan was building an alternative panel with this T2 gun to my cab in order to do not damage or denature it (In fact I own a full working Revolution X cab)

Do you thin I can cleanly use the cab wiring to get the solenoid working?
