OMG!!!! After all these hours back and forth with Dream Home Arcades.  After hearing from the BYOAC community countless times about how Angled Joysticks would ruin my life, relationship and career.  After paying PBJ $10 for properly guessing the ludicrous button spacing.  After all of this lengthy scrutiny over my air craft carrier pedestal, it seems the damn thing WASN'T BIG ENOUGH!!!! Because all of you, and me, missed a mistake that will make gameplay impossible.  An error so large, nobody will want to hop on now.   How did all of us miss this?   I should make those Dream Home ---daisies--- re-do the entire control panel for a third time and pay them in peanuts.   LOOK AT THIS!!!!

Player 3's directional art is saying forward is to the left!?!?!?!?  NOOOOOO!   Even with the joysticks pointed in the right direction now, people are probably going to look at this and just FOLLOW THE WORDS and run into the wall.  OVER AND OVER AGAIN.

LOL...I just had to laugh at this little error.  After all of the hours starring at this thing, nobody, including myself saw this.  Course, just goes to show how ---smurfing--- lackluster the designer at Dream Home Arcades is...But it's no big deal and having owned a SF II cabinet in my house, nobody even looks at this ---steaming pile of meadow muffin---.   Plus they got the Player 1 and Player 2 directions right, so that's all that matter.  Just thought you'd guys get a kick out of this, see and, and APOLOGIZE TO ME FOR TOTALLY ---smurfing--- UP MY BUILD!!!!!!!!

IF you look back over the other threads you'd notice you were warned about the directional art on the CP -- SO it's not our fault you didn't verify it on the final spec !!!! One relevant post is quoted below :

There is multiple ways of angling those sticks back to face the screen with-out destroying the CP top.
Thing you are forgetting is that the artwork also lists the movements for those directions on the joys so the artwork needs to be rotated also not just the joys - so to do it you're gonna need to redo the artwork not just move the joystick orientation !!

That said it is an easy fix - get a copy of the circle artwork and either go to Office Depot or local print shop and have them print a copy of that black circle on back adhesive vinyl - cut the circle out and apply over the top of the existing art (sure it will add an extra layer of art around the circle but should barely be noticeable ( Could also do the same for all four joys so it looks the same on all joysticks) -- Might even be able to get them to print four copies of that for you and send so you could apply if you contact them about the mistake !

if anything the ---uvulas--- that made it should have fixed that. I thought the redid the art when they redid the panel (because ya know, that makes sense).

Also agree with the fixed stated above, easy peasy.

Are you serious...the thread about moving the artwork, was to rotate the it with the joystick, which is what they did.  But the "words" were in the wrong place from the very beginning.  Just never paid attention to it.

I don't know, I think I'd rather live with it than have a layered sticker over that area, or all 4 areas.  Just another "head scratching moment" from Dream Home Arcades.  Their tagline should be - Everything But a Dream.

Technically, they did it right.

On a Street Fighter Layout, P1's forward faces right, P2's forward faces left, because your fighting each other.  P3 should mimic P1, and P4 should mimic P2.

Just know the directional placement was mentioned but we are also looking at pretty small pics of the panel not the full size artwork - but the person that designed the panel should have noticed prior to it going to print (though he may never even play the systems so wouldn't know what to look for !) - If you have them print the copies and cut them out using a template to place over the circle to get a clean edge it wouldn't even be noticeable once applied (and definitely less noticeable than just leaving it with the wrong directions) But that's your call and as you say most people don't even really look at those during game play.

It's Player 3 they messed up, not player 4.  So yeah. BOOM!  It's no big deal.  From what everyone says, it's so hard to get 3-4 players over anyway.  :)

I'll just have the ULTRA RARE custom Variant with MISTAKE FROM FACTORY, ONE OF A KIND,  3rd Player art mistake!!!! Maybe then it will be worth what I'm paying for it.  I'm going to live with it.  No big deal.  Just though I'd share and let everyone get one last laugh at this entire build.

Your image mentions that P4 is wrong, which is the far left.  Thought that was strange.   :dizzy:  Oh well.

What a terrible thing to wish for during this holiday season my friend.  So does this mean you won't be coming over to play?

T-molding doesn't cover the plexi's edge. Better have them redo it.

T-molding is really scuffed up, too.  Looks like they pulled something off an old machine and reused it.

I am actually thinking of making a pedestal for my control panel and would like to know what measurements anyone has on a pedestal like this?

It looks like the pedestal you have is already an appropriate size.  Can't wait to hear the incoming chatter about those P3/P4 joystick orientations.

On a serious note, You may want to PM kaneda, I'm sure he has something with the sizes, or can get you in touch with his vendor.  I'm sure they're pretty cheap.

---fudgesicle--- that noise. I'm sick of that discussion. People, angle them, invert them, put 8 buttons on P3/P4 in case you want to play xBox games on it, put six flightsticks on your control panels. Smoke a few bowls, whatever makes you happy.

Unfortunately the Pedestal I have already, is my Dining room table, LOL. And the Wife is none too happy about me using it as my arcade pedestal.

I'll PM Kaneda
