Pictures of new 6 Button X Stick
« on: November 19, 2003, 08:51:45 pm »
Here's my latest creation.
Actually this was built shortly after my dual spinner test panel.
I just haven't taken the time to shoot the pics & post them until now.
As usual, the box is covered with vinyl & trimed with tmolding.
This time I used X-Arcade parts & a Microsoft Sidewinder 6 button USB gamepad for the interface.
This panel was built as a gift to my father for his birthday.
He doesn't like to admit that he plays many games but I know that he has been using Mame quite a bit in his spare time.
I check out thier PC, which I built  for them as a Christmas gift last year, whenever I visit to make sure everything is still funtioning properly.
Whenever I pull up Mame it's always on a different game so I know that he's been playing street fighter, 1942, etc.
The only change I may make before I give it to him is possibly add a bottom cover.
I think He'll like it.

Looks good, very clean.

That looks really nice!!!! Hey how did you do the vinyl? I could handle doing that on a stand alone cp that I am about to start working on.

Thanks,

Cameron

Very nice work!  Love the clean look of it.  Your father will enjoy that immensely, regardless of whether he will admit it or not.:-)

Thanks for the kudos!
The vinyl was something that Oscar discovered over at Parts Express:

It's very easy to apply & adhears very well.
This stuff feels just like the vinyl overlays on my original Xevious & Tron panels.

Hey what are the dimensions of your CP? I am contemplating making a 2nd player cp to hook into my existing small cp and that design looks good.
Thx,

Cameron
