Are Galaxian and Galaga the same cabinet?

I have been offered a Galaxian cabinet for free. Something is wrong with it, and the artwork is in bad shape. I don't really like Galaxian but was wondering if it is the same cabinet as Galaga? I would love to have a dedicated Galaga cabinet.
The two cabs looks very similar, from what I can tell by net pics.

I'm pretty sure they're both Midway cabs, interchangeable between Galaxian, Galaga and even Pac-Man, but I'll defer to the experts on this one.

Galaxian cabinets are the same shape as pacman.

Easiest way to tell is that Ms. Pac curves quickly and has much more vertical space, whereas Pac curves slowly and barely hits vertical at the top.

What everyone else said, with that being said, if you clean it and paint it black and make it look like a Galaga, no ones really going to be able to tell.

When you see the two styles of cabs side by side and in the flesh, they look quite different. I actually love my Galaxian. I prefer it to Galaga because the art is a lot cooler looking and the game is a blast to play in a dedicated cab. The artwork though is screen printed on a thick vinyl. I have yet to find an ink or a paint suitable for touch ups. As far as I know, no one has yet to accurately reproduce the art, because the correct vinyl has yet to be sourced. That's why more often then not people seem to restore bad off galaxians into Pac Mans... Also because well they would rather have a Pac Man...
