Skip warnings doesn't skip
« on: August 12, 2013, 09:03:47 am »
I have almost everything done on my cabinet, short of artwork.  My question is about the prompts at the start of any MAME game, the "left right or type OK to continue" screens.  I have the %file -skip_gameinfo -nowindow in the MAME configuration tab, but it still doesn't skip.  Thoughts?

What version of mame you using? Turning off the nag screens has been disabled for years so unless you're rocking an old one no dice. Check out the thread about compiling your own with high score and nag screen.

Have you tried MAME Config-O-Matic ( http://files.arcadecontrols.com/details.php?image_id=3650 ) -- You run it once and it creates the config file for all games that you have not run yet getting rid of that screen -- It doesn't remove the other warning screens (ie. "There are Known Problems with this Game") but does get rid of the Nag screen that loads on first run of a game.

Certainly not in .146 - you have to compile or accept nagging :-)

I use hiscore_diff (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,64298.0.html) as well as saving high scores (without needing/using save states) for games, it also has some other features one of which is the removal of nag screens. Its simple to compile - using a great guide. Details of hiscore diff and compiling are all in the thread above.
