WTB: 100 mm dome push buttons
« on: August 05, 2013, 08:01:10 pm »
Hey guys,
Long time lurker, first time poster.
I was looking into building a custom Pop'n Music Asc, and the buttons are  expensive, even at $10 per button.
I found a seller in china with the buttons for $60, and http://www.canadianjoysticks.com/aftermark-100mm-large-dome-push-button/ , but I don't live in Canada, and I don't think they'll be anymore reliable than something used by someone here.
So I was hoping I would get lucky and somebody would be nice enough to sell me their used (or new)buttons, generic or not, for under $60.
Pretty please  :'(

Not much chance of finding a lower price on 100mm illuminated buttons than $4.93 (the price right now) on those "Aftermark" buttons you linked.

My only possible concern would possibly be the quality/reliability of those vs. the Happ buttons.   :dunno

Divemaster127 (Gary) has Happ buttons here that look like that size.

Happ page for that part is here -- 2nd photo has dimensions.

Don't order direct from Happ -- they are infamous for charging outrageous shipping costs.

P.S. There are some european suppliers that carry them, but not sure where you are other than "not Canada".   :dunno

Sorry to forget, but I live in California, USA, home of bacon, guns, and morbid obesity.
I don't need buttons as reliable as Happ buttons, for the sole reason that I'm building a controller for use at home, and only for me. The shipping cost on the canadian site is too much, and I was hoping for anybody with used ones  ;D , but I doubt anybody will sell me theirs.
Sorry if I seem like a newb(cause I am) , but I was thinking of using these "tap lights", gutting them and using the button part

with these microswitches

What do you guys think? Is it worth the hassle, or am I better off buying other buttons?

Several guys dissected them in this old thread.
