Hi, I wanna thank all the people involve with groovyume and groovymame. It's made my arcade monitor much better to look at. However, after I upgraded to version 0.148u5 some games come out scramble like 500 mame games. I did not have this problem with 1.46. I tried it with ati 4650 and 4870 and still the same problem. But if I use groovymame 1.46 I have no problems. Here is the steps I use for groovyUme setup.
1.downloaded MAME and MESS 0.148 Source Code and unpack
2.Place groovyume in the same folder as MAME and MESS 0.148 Source Code rename it as ume.
3.Created ini file ume.exe -cc
4.change the monitor to arcade_15_25_31
5. Unpack crt_emudriver_9.3_1.2a_x64_multisync.rar and vmmaker_1.3c_arcade_osd_1.3b.rar
6.change the rom path in ume ini like this:c:\roms\mame;c:\roms\mess
7.Place all my mame roms in the mame folder from MAME and MESS 0.148 Source Code name scr and also put mess bios files in mess folder.
8.Created subfolder withing mess folder for each system example C:groovyume/roms/mess/nes place all my nes roms there.
9.Told vmmaker my rompath and and ini path.
10.Change in vmmaker ini for magic resolution from value 1 to 2.
11.Install the crt_emudriver_9.3_1.2a_x64_multisync.rar driver and rebooted the pc.
12.ran vmmaker and produce 862 resolution to 42.
13.Ran HyperQ and told it the exe path and rom path.
14.for instance : exe path:C:/groovyume/ume.exe and rompath:C:groovyume/roms/mess/nes--Nintendo system
15. For mame: exe path: C:/groovyume/ume.exe and rompath:C:groovyeume/roms/mame
16. I also setup the windows resolution to 640x480@30 interlace.
everything ran good and I see switch res changing resolution for each game. However, there are games that come out scramble.
After playing around with the ume.ini I found a solution but don't know if is good.
before running vmmaker in the monitior type I did arcade_15_25_31 rebooted pc and then try hyperspin saw the scrambling problem then change the monitor to vga without running vmmaker again.
Now all the games work and dont have scrambling problems. I also see that switch res is changing resolution for each game to native res without problems.
