I friggin LOVE Maximus Arcade

Ok, I am a noob with only Arcade@Home frontend experience, but so far Maximus Arcade has taken everything I've thrown at it, and it just laughs in my face. It's so easy to use, massively customizable, and just plain works. I'm now running a Win 8 setup only in my cab, and I haven't had any trouble so far. I keep expecting nothing to work properly in Win 8, especially with software designed for XP and not updated in a while.

Of course, I'm using a 21" PC Multisync monitor instead of a true arcade monitor, but I have MAME, ZSNES, and Supermodel running perfectly so far and looking very nice, IMHO, thanks to the various video options in all 3 emulators. Looking to add other emulators soon! Hopefully Maximus will continue to smile and say, "Thank you, sir.....may I have another?"

I've since added PS2 emulation with no troubles once I figured out the video options. Still a huge fan, obviously.

When I first got into the MAME arcade scene I jumped on Maximus Arcade and loved it. Its very simple to use and has some great features.

But.............

When I saw my first you-tube video of a demonstration from Hyperspin I instantly switched over.
And I don't think I will switch back.

And there's no real reason to switch if you got something you like working the way you want it to! I looked at videos for every frontend I could find when upgrading from Arcade@home, and I just wasn't a fan of Hyperspin's style. It had nothing to do with features or capabilities.....just the way it looked and operated. It was too much for me. Maximus just looked like what I wanted my frontend to be, and I'm just happy that the one I picked for looks alone turned out to be easy to use and full of features!

+1, I totally agree.

Hyperspin is excellent but way too busy for my tastes (maybe I am too old  :dunno). I was in awe of Hyperspin at first (just as I would guess most cab builders are) but the more I used it the more I went back to MA.

It's a shame that there is not more support for MA here, hopefully their forums come back soon along with an updated MA since there seems to be a new affiliation with X-Gaming.

I am a new member but have been following the forum for a while and tried to sign up two previous times but the confirmation e-mail would never show up after requesting it several times for different e-mail accounts (finally have one that worked).  :applaud:

Try the live help link at the bottom:

Also, there is more talk on Emumovies that the forums will be back online soon, and that an MA update will be coming soon! You may want to ask your question here:

Try removing the link to your snaps/title folder and lowering the delay for video start to 000ms.  Should take care of it if your PC can keep up with the changes.  You can still lower it to 000ms on the delay and leave the snaps to help your scroll speeds.
