Thank you guys.

@Mike: the color would be white because of his size it will look nice that way. (Baltop, buttons and marquee will give him the blue colors)

I painted the cab, 1X primer and tonight one layer White paint.

I only have some problems with my slg3000.

When i turned the device off and boot up xp to Mala i have a picture and then when i am in Mala i have to turn on my slg for the scanlines. When i turn on my slg by booting up xp there will be sometimes no screen and only sound.

I really don't get it and with the yellow bartop i also had sometimes that problem.

Could that be a problem from the combination slg, videocard and lcd screen? ( too long VGA cable, bad DVI/VGA connector videocard, etc?)

And are there any other solutions for scanlines ( no setup Mala/mame etc.) just a device (800X600)

Here some pictures from the Bartop, looks great that White 8)

primer

glossy white 1X (i will do 3 layers)

keep you guys posted!

I guess you are not getting any picture because the slg is not passing the edid info from the monitor to the pc, if you are using linux or win 7 you could try to download edid and save them on the pc. Anyway I wouldn't bother with a scanline generator, unless you plan to use a real PCB (like a neogeo MVS), go for software scanlines. Set the resolution to the native LCD and use "effect" in mame with a good overlay picture or HLSL if you have a powerful gfx card. I think MAME effect does e better job then slg if your LCD does 1280x1024 or more... and much cheaper!

... just forgot you get one more bonus over SLG:

- with effect your scan lines get the correct rotation on vertical games
- with HLSL you get rotation and many other goodies like screen deformation, color bleeding, flickering etc...

thanks for the feedback!

I am using windows xp and my card is 512mb Ati card.
pc spec's: P4 dual core E4300/3Gb/160Gb/DVDRW/X1650.

Where can i download/find a good overlay for mame, because never tried that and i tought it was easier too use a SLG ;)
And do i have to chance the mame ini file?

My max resolution for the lcd is 1600X1200 (4:3)

Second layer glossy White and this looks freaking awesome!

And i am using these on the top/back:

I think this wil look great when the Bartop is on, glossy White, blue buttons/bubble baltop and led blue led fan's. ( and a blue marquee)

Very nice job,  Are you spraying the paint?

Have you got a way of controlling the speed for the fan's  If not I would highly recommend you get one.  2 of those fans at 1800 RPM kick up a lot of noise.   Tweak them back to about 1200 and they are lovely. I'm sure someone here could tell me how to do it with some wire and resisitors but the £2 for a speed controller was worth it.

If you haven't already purchased then try something like these which have a built in controller.

Not spraying, using a roller.

If it make a lot of noise i will use a fan controller.
These fan's using 12V or i can try to connect them to 5V ;)

I think i wil not hear them because there is comming a lot of sound out of this Bartop, 2.1 soundsystem incl subwoofer.
The most noise is comming from the hard drive....

You can find many overlays here: http://www.mameworld.info/ubbthreads/showthreaded.php?Cat=&Number=117585&page=0&view=expanded&sb=5&o=&fpart=1&vc=1
The ones I personally prefer are Scanlines75Dx4.png and ApertureHRES.png from John IV or aperturescan1280.png from rens .

remember tu set "switchres 0"

BTW, great work on your bartop!
