ServoStik and Paradise Arcade Shop Hollow shaft non-compatible
« on: January 25, 2013, 08:32:52 pm »
I purchased a set of ServoStik's for a mini cocktail project and wanted to put in lighted bubble tops.  So, I purchased a set of 6mm hollow JLW shafts from Paradise Arcade Shop.  Unfortunately, the two shaft are close, but not compatible.  The Paradise Arcade Shop shafts look to be about 2mm wider on the lower half of the shaft than ServoStiks; therefore, the "actuators" won't slide over the new shaft.   :banghead:

I just thought I would give others the "heads up" on this.

Are the actuators thick enough to bore out?

Did you ask Paradise Arcade before buying, them say they didn't know, and you decided to risk it anyway?

The actuators are plastic and thick enough to bore out.  I just don't have the equipment to do so.

I admit.  I didn't ask if they would fit.  Andy said the ServoStiks were based off of JLW's.  So, I took the risk.  I spoke with someone who makes custom arcade parts in another forum and he should be able to make me a set of custom actuators to fit the new shafts and have less throw.

If you send me the stick and actuators I'll bore them if you box with return postage. Sounds fun. Pm me if interested.

Thanks for the offer!  Give me a week to play with the new toy and I will send them to you.
