New PSU now "Smart" power strip doesn't work

Looking for a little help.  I needed a beefier PSU on my MAME cab so intalled one recently.  I had everything connected to a smart power strip with PC as the master.  Monitor, speakers and marquee light as slave and it all worked perfectly.  Now the new PSU must be still drawing enough power that even when the PC is completely shut down my monitor and marquee light do not go out. 

Does anyone know an easy solution to get these things to shut off with my PC?

With mine I can configure the power draw threshold of the master before all the slaves receive power. I recall I had to fiddle around with it until it worked. Maybe you accidentally changed your setting? If not switch back the old PSU to make sure it still works in the old situation.

Which brand do you have?

Belkin ones don't have the threshold adjustment screw IIRC.

I have a "Hama 47828"

On page 4, there is a diagram at the top.

Adjustment screw is labeled "A".

Directions to adjust it are on page 5.

Yeah......not as lucky here.  My strip is a Staples brand. Not sure who makes this for Staples but I do not see any type of voltage adjustment on it. Reverting back to my old PSU for testing purposes is not going to happen.  I'm sure this has to do with the new PSU and getting my pc out of my mame cab is a nightmare.  It is my fault it is designed this way but that's the way it is.

If I have to get a new smart strip, that would be an easier option

I scoured the web and found a genuine "Smart Strip" brand on flea bay for $23 (no tax and free shipping).  I may order one myself for my next project.

I actually have the opposite problem.  I have one of the Craftsman Auto Switches and my new eco-friendly PSU doesn't draw enough for the switch to recognize it as "on" and turn on the accessory outlet.

I ended up using one of these on both my cabinets, and just set the PC to power up after power is restored (in BIOS).



It's actually pretty neat. Set both cabs to channel 5, one button pops them both on via remote.
