I think everybody needs to hold off on registering until after we execute a test tournament.   I say this because one of the pieces of information given to the server during registration is an encrypted version of the key that will be used by the machine to encrypt the data passed to the server.  Vise versa it expects the data sent to it to be encrypted with this key.  Currently i am not saving off any of this information.  So spitfire you will have to unregister and reregister when i say.

96p993, you are correct, currently i am the only one who can configure a tournament.  In the future i would like to add the functionality for people to start their own.  That is a way off.  Adding tournament back to all access and unlocking courses on team challenge will come before that.

Thanks for the heads up for everyone boost. Yes would be great to get my all access machine in the tournaments and unlocking all the courses for others and other unlockable items for your player would be great mate I think this was done in the World tour feature of the game. Very exciting times thx to you Boost. Let me know when ur ready for the next test mate.

Hi Boost I hope all is going well with the tournament setup. So just out of curiosity I tried to enable my challenge machine the same way as my team challenge however gave me this error and unable to connect to server. Just thought id let you know for future reference.

Hello everybody.  Almost done with my honey do's and i can get back to server work.  I expected the patcher not to work on challenge as i figured the database password would be different.  The good news....i just picked up a dedicated challenge game yesterday so i can fix this :-)

Hey all, cabinet showed up today. I am now the proud owner of a very nice Team Challenge. I really want to get the all access up and running but not sure I want to shell out the additional 250 Im seeing it for on Ebay. I will be putting in the 29" Vizio soon and getting some new art for the sides and control panel. Im looking forward to getting this baby up and running for some tournaments

By the way, is there any need to get a players or operator (I think that is what its called) card? I have a card reader but not sure if they are worth anything anymore.

No need for an operators card but you will need a players card to save your player profile and Create a clone Of yourself to play as in the game. Also boost is saying this is the way you will register yourself in the tournament when he gets it up and running. So I suggest you find and get at least one however I have made all my friends players that look like them to play as when they come round so u might want to get a few if you can.

When i got to the point of being able to play a tournament i was going to source new cards.  Remember, gvr never made anything, they integrated existing hardware.  These cards will be regulat off the shelf "somethings".  I will find you all a "heaping meadow muffin" pile of them when i get to that point.

This might be tough to answer but did you see any performance gains? I get a little skipping in some of the attract and the ball flight isnt as smooth as I would like. I would say most of this is a RAM issue but dont know if going through the trouble is worth it until the computer craps out...

bumping up the ram certainly helps... but, also check your GPU fan, if it's slow or seized the video will stutter.

Things are going good, just a lot of work at this point.  A LOT of work.  A database to hold all info from cabinets, the 3 different encryption/decryption mechanisms, and the ~80 different messages that are passed between cabinet and server.  This is what I am currently working on.  The next goal though is for me to get a tournament started.  This means I might not be able to retrieve results, might not be able to update the leaderboard, etc.  But at least get to a point where I can properly communicate with each cabinet and send tournament info.  This is big because each machine encrypts the data with a different key.  Mess up the registration and the server will never be able to communicate with the cabinet.  Did I mention a lot of work??  HAHAHAHAHA

I should have given the most important part of the answer.....when will the next milestone be met.  I think by saturday night I should have my machine playing a tournament.  When that happens then all you need to do is unregister, re-register, and you will be able to play the same tournament.  Then the next milestone will be extracting results and pushing leaderboard info.  That should only take a day or two more.

So I was getting in a quick round this evening and while deciding what course to play I thought to myself, self I dont think I have the 22 course the Team Challenge is supposed to have. I went ahead and played Bethpage Black without giving much thought but this evening jumped onto wiki. Sure enough there are several course Im missing (I will list them tommorrow)...How is this possible? Is there a way for an Operator to go in and decide what courses to allow during play?

Someone help...

Boost wish I could help somehow as does sound like a shitload of work ha ha ha. Glad to hear it's all going well mate can't wait to test.
With regards to courses normal team challenge only has 9 courses I think only the all access pass machines have all the courses available to play.

Just checking back in.  Database installed, all three encryption mechanisms implemented,  working on the three message transactions that have to be handled to start a tournament.   Very very close.  Hoping tonight.

I DID IT!!!  My machine after calling into the server!

I need to copy all of the new code and database to the private server that you guys can see.  Right now it is just on my local test machine.  I will do that this evening.

So spitfire, after I get the server updated tonight I need you to unregister your machine, rerun the 0.2 prepper cd (not the AU one), re-register using any four digit code you want, and then call in.  After that you will see the first tournament.  I am going to start a new one as the test one I had ends on the 19th.

Everybody else, after spitfire confirms everything is operational all you need to do is download the 0.2 prepper cd listed in a previous post, register using the 4 digit method choosing any 4 digits you want, and then forcing a call.

But again, wait until I get the server updated tonight :-)

Great work Boost never doubted you for a minute mate. Only one problem my end, I am away on a family holiday up north of Australia and not due back to test till late Tues 23rd Dec Melbourne Australia time. So we might need someone else to step in and test for everyone unless you all want to wait till then. Ha ha ha ha I know I can't wait!!

No worries at all spitfire.  Everything will be waiting for you when you return.  Gives me time to work on the next issue.....what cards can we use, who programs them, where do we source them from?  Or the other task of returning tournament to all access pass.  Enjoy the vacation and family!

If anybody else is itching to try out registering just let me know.

You can buy very long Ethernet cables these days so why don't you run one of these long cable to ur machine from the closes access point such as ur router or modem? That's what I have done.
