Hi! I bought a neo geo cab recently... everything works but im going to build my own control panel and sell all of the parts except the speakers(maybe) and the monitor. Since im making my own cp, i cant use a jamma harness to wire everything and from that, as far as i can tell, i cant use a jpac to connect it all to the computer, so what should i use?

i dont think that nephasth still wants the parts so if u do, im selling! im selling everything as a big lot, so if u just want one part, then just go on ebay and find it.

Your question is kind of confusing.
There should be no reason why you couldn't use a j-pac
and jamma harness. In fact, that set up would probably
be optimal for your particular application.

what i mean is that i wont have a jamma harness anymore once im done selling everything. could i still use the monitor and speakers without the harness?

Just sell the board and keep everything else. You can use the Jamma harness with a J-PAC. It'll save you a lot of money.

It is going to be a pain wiring the monitor up without using a JPac which makes it pretty easy. Jamma harnesses are cheap, so you could just use the harness for the monitor if needed And run everything else other ways. It doesn't make much sense to sell everything as one lot especially if you are getting rid of the power supplies. You would more likely make more parting it out. Your call though.

I am sure there is a way to do it but if you don't know exactly what you are doing and accidentally send a 31khz signal from your pc to the monitor it could ruin it. The jpac prevents that signal from reaching your monitor if you do by accident do that, and it is easy to make that mistake. It might not ruin anything but I wouldn't take that chance with a working arcade monitor.

I second that keeping the jamma harness as the best option. Then you can always swap between a game pcb or MAME computer (with the JPAC) within minutes.
Please note that it usually isn’t 100% jamma standard in NeoGeo games (stereo sound and some other minor deviations), but still I recommend that you keep all wiring. The parts you remove could be sold anyway.

If it is a single slot MVS then it is fully Jamma compatible, the multi board MVS were a bit different.

Still wrong. I'm interested in the PCB (that has yet to be confirmed fully working), but you keep trying to force the other stuff in with the sale. As others have said, your best bet is to sell your parts individually. Nobody is looking for a Neo Geo PCB along with a converted Super High Impact CP...

Honestly that panel isn't worth the cost of shipping it (it will cost at least $20-$25 to ship). No one will need the blank panel itself (other than you, you could still use it) and if the controls were still in decent shape then you would likely be reusing them yourself. When I have sold big heavy panels like that in the past the buyers have usually requested I keep the physical panel and just send the controls in order to keep the shipping down.

Your Neo Geo motherboard, whatever cartridge you have and the marquee are the only things of any REAL value that you have there.

You can buy a new Jamma harness for $10, which makes the (likely) hacked up wiring out of yours maybe worth $2. Same thing with your power supply.
