lilo is the seft test during boot.

it goes:

L

LI

LIL

LILO

L means the first stage boot loader has been loaded and started, but it can't load the second stage boot loader. The two-digit error codes indicate the type of problem. This condition usually indicates a media failure or a geometry mismatch (e.g. bad disk parameters).

you probably had your clone program change some parameters in the MBR on the new disk. you'll have to go through your settings/config and make sure nothing is going to mess with it.

hmm..The only thing it asked me to do is if I wanted to re-arrange the size of the partitions which I didn't..I'll go back through to see if I can find whats causing it.  Thanks!

Just re-cloned the original hard drive and copied it on the new one again.  Id didn't post any errors copying it....but still giving me the same error, L 99 99 99.....  I can't even change any options of the free version of HD clone to mess anything up...absolutely baffled right now.

I downloaded a different cloning software and it worked like a jem.  I was able to restore the MBR from the original HD to my new one.  Popped in the new one and loaded up great....however the same stuttering is happening at the same exact spots.  I'm wondering if the trying to conect to the IT database for the online bowlers club is causing it....I haven't been able to track down an option to turn that off.

looks like they changed the program a little bit. I have an old v2.something i use at work...it's options are a little different. I should probably update it.  :-\

i loaded up the new software at home but I don't have the old software at home i can copy to tell you but from my best recollection...

first before i start copying it asks  "allocate drive slack to partition" i say no just leave it empty.

then it asks a weird question at the end after coping along the lines of "did you want adjust this disk to have better support" (something like that) I say yes to this question because it fixes the MBR on the new drive to match the action of the old drive but fixed for the geometry of the new drive. it's phrased really weird cause the guy is german...I can't blame him.

EDIT WHILE I WAS TYPING

Which program did you end up using? Clonezilla?

did you go into the system settings and try out the disk scan at all?

EDIT

how about the power supply, have you had a go at swapping it and trying a different one with the computer at all?

I used Macrium Reflect Free.

I have not swapped out power supplies since I tested this one with a multimeter and it tested good.

I can't do a disk scan because the drive doesnt show up in windows.  Am I missing something?

I called IT Tech Support today about this problem to get my memory refreshed.

First off... NO VEGAS BOWLING without online registration because it is illegal in some states and IT needs to know what state you are operating the game in so IT doesn't get into trouble for improper use.

Secondly... depending on your software version, even though the game is no longer registered for online use it still tries to call in using SPRINT that IT pays for.

If your antenna is disconnected from your I/O board (this might be the case judging by the cell phone strength meter at the lower right corner of the screen during attract mode equalling zero as shown in the video above) the game will constantly try to identitfy itself to IT causing an interruption in video and sound just like the 56K dial-up modem days. Remember how computers used to stutter while connecting to the internet back then?  Same thing here.

You can also connect the computer to an active Broadband Ethernet connection (non-wireless) thus eliminating SPRINT and achieving the same result.

This may not be your particular problem... but it is worth a try.

OMG..that worked!!  I hooked up the antenna and got a completely different screen than normal.  If I cancel registering the machine the stuttering actually gets worse, but if I let it go through the 200+ second countdown to put it in offline mode...NO STUTTERING.

However, I am plagued with a new monitor issue that I will post in a new thread because this case is closed!  Thank you so much!
