If you can advise of good reading, I would appreciate it. MAME information is widespread, changes often and there seems to be some disagreement, if not differing opinions of what works and that is before the likes and dislikes of individuals play into the equation. I was/am content to run plain Jane MAME UI on a basic Windows XP install on a box that will never see the internet and not in need of updates or security. I grabbed for the brass ring of IV play (which requires .net 4.0) (which requires XP SP3) (which requires SP2) and MS has recently made it as difficult as all get out (and time consuming) to get to SP3 and install all the updates. I had a week lost going to SP3 and then back to the plain Jane XP. I've googled and searched forums and have not come up with satisfactory reading material. Thank you again for your reply, kind sir, and if you could point me in the right direction, I offer my thanks in advance.
