Anything he says I am just going to take his word on during the project and at the same time I am not picky.
What the hell, since I've already been bad and nasty in this thread, I might as well take this to a more logical conclusion.
I admit that part of my conclusion was also due to prior posts:
Ive been working on a project. Turning a busted DK to a Mario Bros mame. I've restored the living crap out of this cabinet. It was pure junk.
I been working on my arcade machine for a couple months. I turned a lackluster DK cabinet into a mario bros. I painted it the true mario brothers colors (had to use 4 different oranges to get it right). Now my project is at a stand still because the rest must be as original looking as possible.
Btw. I have a MINT CONDITION original DK Bezel, Control Panel, Marquee, and Side Stickers to trade.
Also the DK/DK2 pcb.
So, was it MINT, LACKLUSTRE OR PURE JUNK ?
Let's see for ourselves ...

That's a pretty nice (and WORKING) DK (and apparently D2K) cab ... OK, so the buttons and T-Molding are the wrong colour.
One thing is for certain, your views of quality are neither consistent nor reasonable.
He needs to offer them for free on Craigslist before he burns them, people would perserve them. And I know a lot of people looking for the cabs he built. Don't try to tell me there was nothing else he could of done..
When you guys accept this kind of ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- others will follow and try to make a quick buck and treat these antique pieces of history like trash as well.
Accepting this kind of behavior is precisely what is going to lead to the extinction of arcades sooner than it should be. I dont know about you, but I would like to collect these for atleast another 5 years before they get too expensive to purchase because of ass hates like this guy. Is anyone going to agree, or are we all just going to accept this behavior?
And awfully holier than though for a guy who killed a working DK claiming that he wanted an authentic-looking Mario Bros MAME, but then posts this:
I found a DK that was absalutely trashed. Restoring it to Mario Bros.
The color is just right, and I am getting the bezel and marquee soon, computer is on the way. Now I am concerned about cosmetics!
Apologize as I brain storm outloud. Feel free to add any opinions on what can make this thing really stand out!
What can I do to make a Nintendo Cabinet as flashy as possible?
What sucks is I spent 100 dollars in paint trying to get the colors just right.
Now I want to repaint the whole sides again with a new glow in the dark orange color.
It's probably going to be the wrong color, but it may be close.
Does anyone know of a transparent glow in the dark paint, that has different color glows to it. For example, it's clear, but glows orange? Has anyone tried painting there arcade with glow in the dark paint with great effect?
Thinking about doing glow in the dark T-Molding, ATLEAST!
Does anyone know of a good place to buy via internet. I am looking for Dark Blue color.
I was thinking maybe putting a glowing lights behind the Mario Bros bezel to make the bezel glow like the marquee. I also thought about putting Lumingglas inside the arcade, above the monitor to add an extra cool factor.
You know that annoying black striped bar below the bezel (this is a DK cab).
I was thinking about putting a black light there, it's the perfect space and it would make everyone who is playing glow!
I was also thinking about putting a projector of classic arcade images (simple images) on top of the arcade that light up the ceiling of where the arcade stands. Like the Space Invaders, Pac-Man, and all that.
Do they sell custom glow in the dark side art?
From that, and this thread, I take away that you are high maintenance, you are inconsistent with your assessment of quality and you don't actually have a consistent vision of what you want.
All of that adds up to a buyer that I wouldn't want to deal with.
