I appreciate all of the ideas for sure! And PL1...That's definitely the one! HOWEVER, now that I see all of these opinions, I'm thinking why compromise? That wide HAPP bill validator door will fit perfectly, but is that really what I want it to look like? I'm not sure I do. It's wicked expensive too. Maybe I could find it cheaper, but I'm kind of on a different train of thought now.
I'm thinking of a steel plate (maybe 1/16") cut to bolt over the entire opening. It'll have cutouts for a 4-player coin door and an access door below it laid out and spaced like a dedicated MK2 cabinet, (except for the 4-player instead of 2-player coin door). I'll paint the metal plate and the coin and access doors with a fresh coat of black.
Then, do I radius the corners of the plate? Or leave them as sharp 90 degree corners? Do I use a glossy or matte black paint? Textured paint? Also, I say "I", but I don't have the equipment for this. Where can I go to buy this plate and have it cut to my specs? So many questions!
I think it's a good plan, but I need to have it cut! I used to know a guy who worked at a sheet metal company. He cut some special pieces for me for a couple of animatronics projects years ago, but I wouldn't even know how to get ahold of him now. Hmmmm....
