So does that mean the $6000 worth of tools grand prize is a tablesaw and some clamps?  :P

Thanks. Just entered as well. I own the Festool TS-55EQ and its the best tool I've ever purchased. Worth every penny. I hardly ever use a table saw any longer.

Just a quickie glance at Amazon but it seems the cheapest Festool clamp runs around $40 a piece and goes up from there.

I WON the Contest!!!!!

NOT!

There are times I do wonder if there ever actually is a winner in many of these contests. Not talking about the blatant scam like the one that ran in game mags for twenty something years. I see a lot of contests where winner is never announced and any mention of the contest quietly disappears. The Half-Life 2 pre-order contest by Valve is a perfect example. Or the Monopoly/McDonald's contests. I remember reading the prize winners lists but in recent years, the winners list has been non-existent or sketchy at best for nearly every contest I've come across.

I wonder the same thing about small contests like this one.  They are so common now and you never see a winner announced on the website.  The really BIG ones, though, like McDonald's simply have too many eyes on them to be a scam.  There are federal requirements, etc.  You can contact the company afterwards and they are required to be able to provide a list of winners and prizes awarded.

Kinda like the old story of a guy that needed some money so he held a raffle for a horse, 1$ a ticket.

The winner was told to pick up his horse a week later, but when he got there, the horse was dead. Guys says"oh I understand, so here's your 1$ back"

The McDonald's one granted. But contests like the one by Valve, your requests for winners lists just go unheeded. I vaguely remember some federal regulation about that, I'll have to find the code section and cite it next time I make a request.

Exactly, I suspect.it's just an.easy way to drum sales.Ever heard of the, "no purchase necessary," blurb? Have heard of anyone winning a contest without purchasing anything..... ever?

I won a copy of Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum by entering an online contest with no purchase necessary. In the end it cost me $1400 on a camera good enough to film with  :P I entered hoping to win a camera.
