Mounting Console Plugs for controllers

Hello and thanks in advance for any help.

I am trying to mount some Nintendo Controller ports (NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube) onto a firm piece of __________, onto my pc arcade.  I have thought about using material like wood (Would kinda clash with current setup, and fragile), Sheet metal, Fiberglass.

My issue is that i want it to look pretty professional, yet be cheap enough.  I tried using Fiberglass and Sheet metal, and I ran into a problem cutting it.

The sheet metal would work best, but I need some real ideas of how to cut it accurately enough to make it look good, and how to support the controller input ports.

Why not use plastic? Its fairly easy to cut and you can get some interesting colors. (Black goes with just about anything), plus you can hotglue the connector, or use silicone.
You may could use an old PC blank cover for a hard drive expansion space or a floppy drive space.

Sheet metal can be cut using a drill for pilot holes and a jig saw, but you will need to take your time and make it pretty with a file.

Why not wood?  Painted properly or covered with laminate, it can look pretty good.

Plastic is another good option.

Here's how one guy did a similar project.

You can start with sheet metal, trace the layout, "chain drill" (make a series of holes in a line next to each other) a little way inside the outlines, then finish removing the rest of the metal with a dremel tool and/or needle files.  Paint/finish metal as desired or use a vinyl overlay.  Make a smaller wood piece to support the connectors or countersink them directly into the cab.  Use hot glue to fill the wiggle room and hold the connectors.  Use screws to connect the metal to the wood/cab as needed.
