Wow - a Frosty sighting.   :notworthy:

Welcome back, and I wanted you to know that I still use your vectorization guide to this day.  Thanks for that.

I settled on a unique solution after trying a few different configurations, check out page 5 of my thread http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,71848.0.html

I am thrilled with my LEDs, I think it makes the cabinet.  My cab looks somewhat furniture-like when off  with its wood laminate sides and the LEDs bring it to life when in use.  For me the LED Buttons and cabinet lighting evoke memories of Neon lights and gaudy decor, just like the arcades.   Combine that with 80's music in the background of the FE menus and it's a blast from the past.

You have surely noticed by now that we are not in Kansas (2003) anymore :)

First I want to say nice work to everybody posting cool stuff on here.

Trip, I bet the trackball needs more light to get it looking the same as the rest of the cp.

Are any of these LED drivers you are using dimmable? I'm writing software to control dimmable LED lights and I would add these devices to my list of supported devices if they support external computer controlled dimming.

I'm sure led CP's are a pain in the ass, but they sure do look cool :)

I can get the light the same, it's more of the milky color of the ball that I want the same.

Led blinky let's you set the intensity/dimming

BTW, with regard to the "dead button" debate... a lot of older cabs had "duplicate" (left-hand/right-hand) buttons, and "dead" buttons was pretty much the norm on MVS cabs.  As long as there's some kind of indication of either "these buttons have no function" or "these two buttons do the same thing", what's the big deal?

Thank you for the replies.  Trip those pics are awesome.  Do you have any in like full light? during the day with the blinds open kind of thing? I have some LEDs that are bright even in daylight but not sure about the buttons.

It's not a dealbreaker, either way it'll be great in the evening!

This is the best I got with the lights on in the basement.  Will try to get some daylight/blinds open with lights on when I get home.  You can see them in the light easily.  It's very noticeable in daylight, but not ungodly bright in the dark.

Found this pic, this is where I had everything on full bright.  You can't really tell how ungodly bright the joystick really is though.  It almost hurts to look at it.  LEDBlinky intensity goes from 0-48.  To match the buttons with the joystick, the buttons are at 48 and the joysticks are at 8 in the first pics I posted.  LOL

Trip I love this control panel.  Do you have any specs on it or a build thread.  I would love to try to duplicate something like it.  It has everything I want on mine and it is also a 4 player panel like I am trying to make.

It's pretty much the quad control panel from mameroom with a basic layout I liked...  The designs are in saint's book if you want to build it or you can buy it from mameroom.com.

I bought some EE buttons when they first came out and mine do not look that nice.  Those look much more white than mine.  Was there a change in the buttons that I missed?

That CP looks awesome BTW.  Very nice.   :applaud:

Not that I can tell, but I am just a recreational player and so is my family members.  It helps us a lot.  You can really dim them down by playing with LEDBlinky are just have it so you can just tell they are lit if they really bother you if they are too bright.

Here are some of the pics, it is really hard to take pics of these things, I tried for awhile and gave up.  Pics just don't do these justice at all.

Attempt to show the milky differences between the balltops and buttons to the trackball.

I used full RGB on all my CP buttons including trackball with electric ice conversion, I don't regret the results, I love them, but i was cursing a lot when wiring up my CP lol.

I love the way this looks! Especially with the black bezels around the buttons. I've been searching for the clear buttons but I only found the milky "ice" buttons. What buttons are those? Did you have to get black buttons as well to mix and match to get that look?

I am currently in the planning phase for my new cabinet (my latest cabinet was built in 2004) and those RGB lights are a new thing for me to try. A lot of info seems scattered so I'm looking for a starting point. Is a shopping list available somewhere to get buttons light up like that? Thanks in advance!
