Selling cabinet
« on: August 21, 2012, 12:09:01 am »

I'm thinking of selling my arcade cabinet and I'm looking for suggestions to maximize my return. I've got around $2,000 into it including Betson 27 inch multisynch monitor, coin door, track ball, spinner and a two player custom set up.

Craigslist seems to be the only option but it seems like most cabinets are going for around 400 to 500 dollars.

Thanks for any suggestions.

That sounds about right for a MAME cab.

You're probably better off selling it to a co-worker or friend who doesn't look for this stuff on CL or eBay.

Part it out and hope for the best return possible that way?

Yeah I could part it out but I'm not sure if the end result would be that much better. I saw on this forum someone sold their monitor for a couple hundred and I'm guessing I wouldn't get much more than that for the trackball and spinner.  Plus it would "hurt" to tear it apart.

It hurts the first time, after that your soul starts to darken a bit and it gets easier.   >:D

If it's hurts, keep it.
