Any alternative to MAWS

New to the forum. Title says it all. MAWS sounds great. Did anything take its place?

Thanks

Sadly, MAWS was a fantastic tool that so far no one has replaced (if anyone knows the former owner of MAWS, I'd be willing to take over the source and host it), however the closest site today is probably mamedb: www.mamedb.com

I don't know much about the inner circle of MAME folks, but MAWS was really a crucial resource, I am surprised no one has got it up and running yet.
Completed projects: Pac bartop (Plug & Play), 30th Anniversary Pac cab (MAME), Point Blank (PS1), Centipede (arcade hardware- light restore), VS. Super Mario Bros (arcade hardware- light restore) Tetris Cocktail (SNES), Arcade Classics upright (60-in-1, then MAME), Multi-Raiden (arcade hardware). Pac Man vs.(Gamecube),

Working on: Pinball Re-theme, Homebrew arcade arena shooter

It got dissembled. I'm sure they'd give you whatever you wanted if you wanted to re-assemble it. Ask at MAMEWorld.

Bumping this topic.  Anyone know if Maws has any plans of resurrection?  Mamedb.com is not cutting it.

well if you're wondering about features then check the thread
http://www.mameworld.info/ubbthreads/showthreaded.php?Cat=&Number=313199&page=0&view=expanded&sb=5

that's where they're discussing the english translation + missing features stuff in order to try and bring it up to par with what MAWS offered.

I agree tho, it's nowhere near as clean as MAWS was right now tho, and looks ugly in comparison IMHO but hopefully they can at least replicate all the functionality.
