Deadstorm Pirates
« on: June 10, 2012, 12:38:57 am »
Friend's kid had his fourth this morning at Chuck-e-Cheese.  My son stumbled across Deadstorm Pirates.  It was a great setup for him because the gun and wheel were just his height.  My wife and I took turns co playing (on our knees no less) and quarter feeding him through the game.  (Free token cup being a birthday party guest :woot ).  It was his first game completion.  I was pretty proud.  We missed cake and were given sideways glances as most 4 yr olds don't monopolize a game for 40 minutes.

Namco is damn genius.  This game is retarded fun.  Great for kids because it's a cross-hair game rather than a true light gun game.  After seeing how well the kiddo did makes me wonder if a set of cross-hair controllers wouldn't be a bad idea.  I think it's only on PS3, I just spent some time flexing my google-fu looking for a PC version to no avail.

Anybody know any similar cross-hair shooters that are ported to PC?  I think I have most of the classics already eg spacegun, t2: jd, and jurassic park etc but would like to find something with more up to date graphics and game play.

If you get the chance give it a whirl.

Yup.  Direct quote from my kiddo:  Dad, you shoot the circles with me then kerchoooo! He deadeds.

The two handled guns are perfect for beginners too as his accuracy was vastly improved over single hand shooters.

lets go island by sega looks like the exact same game.  It is also pretty fun and I played it though till completion once and it was a quarter eater...Best part was at the end, we messed up on the final boss and the ending of the game was not a fairy tail like you usually see.  So it enticed me to play all the way to the final boss again to see real ending, I never got around to doing  though.

House of the Dead 3 on the pc had crosshairs if my memory is correct.
Back in MY day we lived on the moon and we had to build a rocket ship from scratch to get to the Earth before we suffocated.
