Gluing down vinyl decal
« on: May 24, 2012, 09:13:18 am »
So, the sideart on my cabinet is basically just a vinyl decal.  The problem is that the edges are starting to peel up.  Not sure what happened but I believe that I didn't prepare the surface properly before applying.  It might have been a little dusty.  Plus, it took me about 10 times of half applying it and then peeling it up to get it straight.  What would be the best product to use to get the edges of the decal to stay down...permanently?  Thanks

I would probably try to go with a spray adhesive with a hose on the can.

I agree, that 3M spray adhesive is really nice. I would spray a little of that on, and push it down flat. Maybe have a flat object help you push and hold the entire area flat for a couple minutes while it sets. Have a damp cloth ready for any spray that leaks out past the edge of the decal just in case.
