Any examples of BYOAC projects that forego the bezel to save width?

Hey, I plan on using 14% tinted glass in front of a 27" TV and was considering something... the television is still in it's case, and i'm debating on whether or not to decase it.  Obviously the only reason I am considering decasing it is to bring the width of the cab down some to allow for easier manoeuvering.  But I worry that even behind tinted glass, it will still need a bezel to look nice.  Or would it?  If I added a bezel, it would basically bring the TV back to it's original width, save for maybe 1/2", and if all I am getting out of decasing it is a savings of 1/2" it's not really worth it to me.  I wonder, would it look bad if I just had a decased TV in behind the glass with no bezel and brought the sides closer to the edges of the TV?  Are there any examples of anyone else doing this I could look at?

The bezel doesn't really add width. It is to cover the empty space. It can be as small or large as it needs to be. You won't save width by forgoing the bezel.

So basically just enough bezel to cover the bit of metal around the edges of the screen?  I am quickly realizing that I will likely find my answer once I decase this beast and see what is under the plastic.

Interesting discussion here on the lack of a bezel when using that dark of glass.  I saw it the other day while researching tinted glass.

You can even paint a bezel mask on the glass or a separate piece of plexi/lexan to conceal the frame and whatnot if necessary.

I'm typically anti bezel.  I like cutting Lexan/Plexi and then mapping out the screen, covering it with painters tape and then spray painting the outsides black.  Works as a pseudo bezel without the hassle.  the biggest thing the bezel provides is to hide all the stuff except the screen.  Makes it look nicer.
