Will this monitor work??
« on: April 26, 2012, 10:52:31 pm »
Hello all, I'm new to the board but have been looking at putting together a touchscreen jukebox for my basement/mancave.  Having never owned/purchased a touchscreen before, I need some help.  I've been reading dozens of posts/blogs/etc and most everyone is picking up an ELO touch from Ebay.  Looking around there, I found this one:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/ELO-TOUCHSYSTEM-SCN-A5-FLT17-1-E509854-KIOSK-/110837708199?pt=Computer_Monitors&hash=item19ce7135a7

Two questions:  first, will this work.  Seems the same, but given that it was under kiosk instead of just monitors i wanted to ask some folks with more knowledge.  second question:  what cord/cords will i need to connect this to a pc or laptop.

thanks for helping out a newb.   :applaud:

1st answer = Yes that would work.  2nd answer a standard vga cable and a USB A to USB B cable. (Although it could be a 9 pin serial connection,  looking at the picture I would bet on USB).  You could always fire a message to the seller to confirm that, or get the details for the controller board and it should be easy enough to find out.

Make sure you do a build thread when you start  ;D
