I need a photoshop master!!! I've got a challenge for you.

Hi Guys,

I know this is a long shot but I have to try right? 

Attached are two docs;
                                 1. is how my 4 player CP is layed out with buttons and Joys
                                 2. Are the characters I want on my CP for each player (1Player -Wolverine, 2ndPl -Ryu, 3rd - Leonardo, 4th - Hulk)

What I am trying to achieve;
                                 1. I need someone to design my a CP with using the characters provided (or some version of them)
                                 2. I would like everything(from the cp to characters) to look hand drawn or painted in black and white
                                     a. White background & black characters (example)
                                 3. I like the look of the art from Street Fighter 4 (360) that Japanese comic book long brush stroke artsy.....srry if there is a better name
                                 4. I plan to use Black Pushbuttons with different color Halo Led's (yellow for Wolverine, green for hulk etc)

I know its a lot to ask but if anyone is up to the challenge I would love to see what you have to offer. Thanks you to anyone who gives it a shot.

This goes way beyond the standard "How do you do X in photoshop" type questions we all don't mind answering.  This is more like, "I've got a cool idea, who wants to do all the work for me... for free... it's a challenge."  Not cool.

Step 1:  Check out the stickies and find a photoshopper for hire that does the type of work in which you're interested
Step 2:  Post on his thread or PM a request of what you're looking for
Step 3:  Shell out some coin for some decent art rather than begging for pro-bono

or

Step 1:  Put together a concept sketch of what you want and submit that for peer review
Step 2:  Create conversation around your idea and make improvements based on advice that you find valuable
Step 3:  Maybe get lucky and somebody will offer to help take you the rest of the way if your PS skills aren't up to snuff

OK - i took a quick look at your requirements and then a quicker look into my arcade stash of characters. I had them 'except' a Leonardo.
So the only thing fitting would be to find an equally blue char - one comes to mind CHUNLEE.

I don't have time to put details and rework into it - but you may find this a good starting point.
Let me know if you want it and i'll get it to a host somewhere.
Size is 75cm x 30cm - but if you know a little of PS then you can change this and the char's positioning.

wow.... take it easy bud, I was just asking if anybody wanted to give it a shot, I have done some research but I don't have the money for photoshop and I thought maybe someone who was looking to do a challenging project would like to try it.

If no one wants to give it a try no big deal, I just know I am not artistic at all and I had an idea and was hoping to see it come to life. If you could get off your soapbox and stop trying to police what people put down on forums for a sec you would see I was just aksing for help it doesnt imply that anyone has to do anything, and that's why I said it's a long shot.

You said you don't have the money for Photoshop, so you could try some open source tools.  Like GIMP instead of Photoshop or Inkscape instead of Illustrator. 
Sounds like you already have the base idea of what you want, I think you'd be able to get a good mockup going and from there be able to seek advice from the artistic people around here.  It will be much more rewarding having been involved instead of someone doing it all for you.

In all fairness, a ton of photoshop work is not worth a hairy nickel. I really don't see an issue with his request. As long as he is grateful for whatever help he gets, and not have any unreasonable expectation that he would get "paid" quality work. I wouldn't call pasting 4 stock images on a white background and applying a brush stroke filter to be at that level.

That being said, if he does expect something to look as awesome as what some of our resident artists pull off, then yeah he should learn himself or pay for someone to do it.

Honestly guys I'm sorry if this has touched some peoples nerves, I didnt think I was ordering anybody to do anything. I was just asking to see if anyone was interested, if not NO BIG DEAL.

I get doing it myself would be more rewarding, but I know my time and skill limitations. again if no one wants to try then again NO BIG DEAL.

I thought whats the problem with asking? right? if someone felt generous then great if not, o well. It cant hurt to ask.

You need to shovel the sand out of your whoha before replying to threads bud. Its a ARCADE CONTROL PANEL DESIGN ! If someone wants to help me let them, if not no ones out anything.

I appreciate you thinking that I have the authority to stop anyone from doing anything, or that a comment made would in some way prevent someone from helping.  I am certain that your original request had good intentions.  I'm also certain that you have had several people post on here offering excellent advice, help, digging through their own resources, and even posting resources and you haven't said dick to them of thanks.  I am finally certain that despite my first post I still went through my own files, opened your attachments, searched for some art meeting your requirements, and thought about how I would go about making that CP because it is a good idea.  Welcome to an online community, please have thick skin and we can all come away feeling like we've gained through these exchanges.

Your right man I should have a thicker skin, but whats with the hostility right away? I will say thank you as soon as I can, so far everyone has been extremely helpful, except you.

Maybe I am crazy  but your coming off very negative, just because you don't like my post doesn't mean you have to a dick right away about it. Just because were apart of an online community doesn't mean that it gives you the right to judge someone for asking a question. welcome you to normal human interaction.

While I don't agree with the tone Le Chuck has replied with, I do understand what he's saying. Posing it as a "challenge" is just a sneaky way of asking someone to do work for you for free. It's a trick you use on your kids to do something, like cleaning up, or brushing their teeth. If you posed the request a little different, maybe a bit more humbly, it might not have angered the trolls.
In the spirit of DIY, most of the time people ask for help creating artwork, rather than looking for donations. But, there's nothing wrong with asking for 'em. And, it looks like you got a hand-out anyways. Though it may not be exactly what you were looking for, it is what it is...free artwork.  It was just the way you wrote it seemed a bit off-putting.

Just playing devil's advocate here, but nobody jumped on Pinball Wizard when he made a "contest" to design him a bartop. In fact, the legendary Ond jumped in and designed him a sweet cab pro bono.

I think there is a lot to be said about the generosity of this forum, as as long as no one goes into a request with an "expectation", It doesn't bother me any.

Giving free design "concepts/ideas" is different than full-on artwork. 
Pinball still has to do the work. Besides, he didn't go into explicit details on what he wanted. He basically just said, "i got this extra wood, need ideas for a bartop".

But this is neither here or there. LA got his artwork, so it's all good.
