I have a board, can you identify it for me? It has a couple of knots in it and it's about seven feet long and 10 inches wide.

If you really need help, you really need to supply detailed information. Pics help out a lot sometimes as well.

The alternative is to install one of these buttons:

Not sure what exactly you're trying to capture with those pics (besides the one of the monitor). Since you're not going to freely offer up information, I'll try to pry a little bit more out of you.

What cabinet are you trying to run this in?
Has the cabinet had any modifications or conversions done in the past? Are the harnesses visibly altered?
Is the monitor a known good monitor?
Have you had a working game running in this cab? (I assume so, but you never know)
If so, what game(s) have you had running in it?

One thing you will want to do is consult this game's manual and the manual(s) of the working game(s) (if any) and check the schematics, in particular the video signals and audio. Don't be affraid to do some digging.

Let's clarify the purposes of the pictures. It allows someone, like people on this forum, to look for and identify missing IC's, burnt or damaged traces and so on. One of the key points is that the photo does need to be as clear as possible. Hint: if you can't read the boards identifying marks, the picture is not clear enough. I see a lot of people that insist that they've checked this and that or they've reseated this, or they cleaned that and a well taken photo would reveal something that the person would easily miss. Missing caps. A missing IC in a slot. Mixed IC's.

If you want help, you need to work with us. We're not being ---Deutsche Frankfurters---, but please don't waste our time if you're unwilling to take the steps to get that assistance.

Anyways, from what I can tell from the manual (yes, I Googled for and found the manual. Try it yourself. The manual is not very good but it's a start.), you've got one of those bastard daughter ROM boards which is, somewhat, confirmed by the photos and what looks like quad I/O header connectors. If it's anything like those damn Capcom boards, you might want to check the connectors to make sure there's no damaged or missing pins. I still have a Capcom set on my desk because of that.

Did you measure power supply voltages while this particular board is plugged in and powered up?

Is your JAMMA harness in the cabinet "keyed" so that the board couldn't be plugged in backwards?

Not a technician . . . . just a DIY'er.

So you're expecting us to come up with the solution out of thin air?
How about you wait till you're properly equipped to attempt to repair this.

Sounds like you may have moisture in your capacitors.  Try putting the board in your microwave for 30 seconds and see if that dries them out.

wouldnt that fry my board?

Hey Mac,
I'm not trying to sound like a jerk, but you really haven't supplied the proper info in order for anyone to help you here.
When posting a problem, you first need to state all of the specs, what the board is, what the cabinet is that you are putting it in, etc.

When posting pics and videos, they need to be of what it is doing wrong, not pics of the board with no wiring to it, those pics don't help.

Theres seems a be a problem on these boards forums where people will post a vague problem and expect someone to know off the top of their head whats at fault.
Then when they are told to do certian first steps, such as meter for proper voltage at the board (not the power supply), they instead take the lazier way of just asking more questions and never following through with what they were told to do.
First steps in board repair: 1) visually check for anything obvious 2) Verify 5v (typically around 5.1v) at the board (best to check right at the power pins on an ic chip) 3)reseat chips and check for bent legs. Some times these chips need to be have the legs cleaned and too darn many times, some legs need to be repaired (new leg soldered on) especially in the case of older boards like Pacman, Galaga, etc.
True, there are some common known problems that can be answered quickly, but more often they can't be answered withou more info.
