How to wire a JAMMA coing button?
« on: September 15, 2011, 03:17:27 am »
Can someone tell me if a JAMMA coin button wired to the CP needs to be a momentary contact switch or can it be wired to a regular "cherry" microswitch button? If so, how???

I can only seem to get a small momentary button to work and I would prefer to use a full sized green button!

A regular "cherry" microswitch is a momentary switch. Just make sure you are connecting the GND and coin input wires to the COM and NO (normally open) terminals of your microswitch.

with a cherry switch, make sure you're wiring it to the proper points on the switch. If you look at the switch, you will see one terminal marked "COM", one terminal marked "N.O." and one terminal marked "N.C."
make sure to use the COM and N.O. terminals and it should work just as well as the other switch that you were able to make work.

It must have been some issue with the ground wire...it works when I use a different ground wire? Not really sure why that is?
