MEGA TOUCH MODEL G20-100-003 problem please help.

Hello and thanks for reading, i bought a MERIT MEGA TOUCH MODEL G20-100-003 at a local flea market, qhen i got home i plugged the machine and it dosnt turn on, so i wonder if maybe this is a monitor issue, since all i hear its a continues cliking noise near by the monitor but i dosnt turn on at all.So if anyone has one of this and maybe had have this problem can help me, thanks for any help

hi is it the 12" crt style
if so what is the name on the side

u see merit olny used 2 dif model's of crt style monitor's
in there mega touch :bar-top: game's
if it is a 19" standup style then that is a dif story..
as a rule on the 12" unit's
if u look at the heat sink on the :left: of the chassic where the power cord goe's in will be a fuse
see if it is open..ie multi meter and machine un-plugged
if that fuse is good then u have a few other problem's
also look on the ami/merit site for there bar top's stand up-'s
but again most time merit used 2 dif type's which ken layton covered in our monitor thread's

This model number you have posted doesn't do anything for me.  I am lazy, research sucks.

Is this game a countertop or an upright?

Is it a Megatouch 1-7, an XL, or a MAXX?

Regardless of game type, if all you have is a monitor problem you should still be able to play the game 'blind', that is, when you touch the screen you should get a response acknowledged by a sound.

If you have no game boot up you can tell if the monitor is good by watching the screen when you turn off the power.  It should quickly flash white.

I have never heard of a MEGATOUCH with a 12" monitor.

It is more like 15" measured DIAGONALLY not straight across.

So is it a COUNTERTOP or an UPRIGHT?

Is it a 1-7, an XL, or a MAXX?

Anyway ,fuses look good and the cliking sound comes from the flyback so im taking this chasis to the experts to see if they can fix it.

these are switch mode power supply type unit's
the tick tick u here is the switch trying to come on
problem's here are as a rule
1=cap's
2=vert-ic
3=ihvt >flyback<
that is usaly the last reason
